A riveting look into WW2
Having seen one or two of the parts on the History channel I felt compelled to own rather than download this series on Blu Ray. It's called WWII in HD not so much for the films that were obtained by the producers, but the experiences told by the individuals that lived through the war. I must say I was impressed with the way the raw footage was remastered. You really can see the video has been updated and is visually pleasing. The footage is very graphic however and when you think about the war going on now in Afghanistan, you wonder if this is the type of things that our soldiers see everyday. It really makes you appreciate what the troops there are doing for our countries. I'm not exactly pro war, it seems to me more like a fight we shouldn't be involved in, but that's ... Real and in color!
WOW! This blue ray DVD set is superb. We watched it over few weeks period. We wanted to absorb the impact of this excellent historical record. The color footage is great and should actually make it where younger people (not children) will watch it. It is very graphic. The set presented the entire war in a very easy to understand format. Every theater of war was present. I am so glad the filmmakers were able to find all this rare if not never before seen footage. Congratulations on a job well done. We will watch it many times.WOW! This is a great series which will bring the war back to life and in vivid color. Being able to watch familiar scenes from the war in color makes everything much more "real". Often, i find it hard to picture WW2 material in black and white because it seems so......distant and in the far past. This series brings everything to life. WWII in Blue Ray
This is one of the most outstanding series made. It covers the lives and what the feelings were of the men that took place in World War Two. It doesn't show the glory that war has been depicted to be, but the courage of ordinary people doing a job that needed to be done. The coverage shows the human side to war, and their lives then and them telling the story now. It shows how that generations did what they had to do, and how much respect and honor should be given to them for their excellant jobs.This is one of the most outstanding series made.
