I purchased two. One was brand new, never opened, the other was obviously a return. Box was taped shut at the top and bottom, opened it up and there was no protective plastic on some of it, there were screws loose in the box, the battery holder was in with the open package of batteries and not in the lock. I honestly don't know if all the parts are actually in the box either.

Packing was terrible, outside box too large, no packing material to fill the void, no exterior wrapping around the product, either paper or bubble wrap to protect it, hence the box came smashed, from compression. Was supposedly “new” but doesn’t look that way now, was ordered as a gift.
