Product Information
When a wealthy man is kidnapped from a small town, jaded local detective Gene Reardon (Hauer) is assigned to investigate the case. His authority is slighted when the FBI are called in to handle the investigation. Coincidentally, at the helm of the FBI is Gene's ex-wife Wallis Longworth (Porizkova.) Upon receiving an anonymous tip, the authorities find the kidnapped man's dead body on Gene's property, leaving them to assume him a prime suspect. Wallis is doubtful of his guilt, so the two people who could never get along must privately work together to prove his innocence and solve the case--propelling them into a dangerous confrontation with the true killers.
