The crimes aren't what make this mystery-driven series so much fun. Instead, it's the chemistry between leads James Roday (DUKES OF HAZZARD) and Dulé Hill (THE WEST WING) that has PSYCH following in the footsteps of series such as MONK and MAGNUM, P.I. With a family of cops, Shawn Spencer (Roday) has honed his observational skills to an impressive degree. But rather than join the police force and make his father (Corbin Bernsen, L.A. LAW) proud, Shawn bounces from job to job, working as everything from a foot model to a Wienermobile driver. But he can't keep his powers of deduction hidden, and he calls the police with tips for their cases. When his knowledge arouses suspicion, Shawn does the logical thing: tells everyone he's a psychic and opens a psychic detective agency. Aided by his best friend and polar opposite, Gus (Hill), Shawn solves cases with the Santa Barbara Police Department. The detective duo matches wits with the doubtful police, hardened criminals, and one another with hilarious results. This release includes every episode of this quirky dramedy's first season.

Fake psychic and sidekick solve crime
The genius of a fake psychic working with police and the slapstick comic friend ship with Gus and Spencer is unique. He has the intuatve power to look at something and see what everyone else missed.

One of the best shows ever!!!
I love this show; the premise is brilliant, the story lines are enthralling, and the characters are laugh-out-loud funny. When I first saw the pilot, which was included on a season of 'Monk' DVDs, I was skeptical, but I gave the show a second chance and now it is one of my favorites. Mysteries can be captivating the first time you see them, but then when you watch them again you remember what happened and it's easy to become bored. However, when you have a show like this, that has humor and drama and mystery all rolled into one, with such skilled actors playing such hilarious characters, you can watch the same episodes again and again and never get tired of them. This disc set also includes some hilarious bonus features, including James Roday's audition tape, deleted scenes, and ... I love this show; the premise is brilliant, the story lines are enthralling, and the characters are laugh-out-loud funny. One of my favorites! Glad to get the DVDs. There may be good news for skeptics who are looking for a TV show that is both entertaining and satirical towards psychic detectives. Psych is a concept that is not-in-your-face skepticism but makes a point with it's very premise: that someone can appear to be psychic simply by having observational skills. The other reason we have some definite potential with Psych is the audience is let in on the gag and we are constantly curious about which observation will be used to fool someone. The character of Shawn Spencer is out for gain, as he explains to his Dad who thoroughly disapproves of him using his "gift" as a psychic, but Shawn's offenses are tempered by the skeptics in the police force trying to catch him making a mistake. The Interim Police Chief Karen Vick gives us the impression that she knows that he's not a real psychic, however, he's still worth keeping around because whatever he's doing is working in her favor.

Psych is composed of three parts: 1 part Comedy and 2 parts AWESOME! The way the episodes play out, the jokes incorporated, and the characters used in the series is perfect. The premise of Psych is as follows: A hyper observant person (Shawn) is accused of being an inside man to a crime. The information that he provided to the police regarding while watching the news was so good, they suspected him. To avoid a big problem with jail time and such, he pretends he is a psychic. From there, he is joined by his childhood friend and best friend Gus, solving crime as a "psychic". This TV Series is sooooo good, I stayed up until 4 A.M for two consecutive days watching this and the second Season of Psych. WATCH IT! Excellent, fast and easy. Great way to buy tv shows at reasonable prices!I bought this because I love Psych the TV show! I wish they hadnt ended it, the pilot episode was one of my favorites. I got this so my boyfriend could watch all the season with me. Hes hooked too now! This product was obviously used but the DVD themselves were in good shape. No complaints.
