About this product

Product Information

The first true Spaghetti Western follows the exploits of a nameless drifter (Clint Eastwood) who wanders into a town torn apart by greed, corruption, and revenge. The clever, tough-talking gunslinger then plays the town's two feuding families off each other to his own benefit. As members of each family are planted in the ground, the gold in his pockets gets heavier and heavier. This violent remake of Akira Kurosawa's YOJIMBO made Eastwood a star, and sparked two sequels--FOR A FEW DOLLARS MORE and THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY--to form what is now referred to as the Man with No Name trilogy. All three films starred Eastwood, featured Ennio Morricone's distinctive musical compositions, and were directed--in a wonderfully gritty style--by Sergio Leone. Although the film was not released in the United States until 1967, it was produced and released internationally in 1964.

    Epic Movie!!!

This film marked the beginning of the spaghetti western genre with a bang. Thrilling action combined with Clint Eastwood's unmistakable acting style make the film irreplaceable. The great plot and characters were only enhanced by top notch film and audio quality..

  • Monco: You mind telling me how you got here? Col. Douglas Mortimer: I just reasoned it out. I figured you'd tell Indio to do just exactly the opposite

Fistful Of Dollars is a classic. As usual, money talks; For A Few Dollars More, the quality was better, the overall experience was better and, of course, the movie was better.

  • A Fistful of Dollars

The first film in director Sergio Leone (A Few Dollars More- The Good, Bad & the Ugly) and star Clint Eastwoods "Man with No Name" trilogy finds a world weary gunman in a town torn apart by warring gangs. He agrees to work for both sides, ultimately pitting the two factions against each other. Marianne Koch and Gian Maria Volonte co-star in this groundbreaking Western that started a string of spagetti westerns that made stars of many that went on to greater stardom (including Eastwood). This movie was inspired by Japanese filmmaker Akira Kurosawas classic Yojimbo, which was a great hit in Japan. Good for a nights entertainment or as an addition to collectors of Clint Eastwoods movies for certain.

  • A Fistful of Dollars (DVD, 1999)

Clint Eastwood as the man with no name in a small Mexican town that has two bosses. The Baxters and the Rojos. One group sells liquor and the other sells gun and ammunition. They are in a constant fight for supremacy. Eastwood winds up right in the middle of them and he is for sale. He sets out to play one family against the other, and as their numbers dwindle, his pouch of gold gets heavier. This was the first in a series of three "Spagetti Western" that saw Clint Eastwood become the biggest western star since John Wayne.
