This book was a missing link in our collection of Mary Pope Osborne’s incredible Magic Treehouse series. These books were written for young readers, but my friends and I have found that they work great as read-aloud books for children as young as 4. The dependable setting and structure and the fast-paced adventures in a great variety of times and places keep even young children’s attention. The stories serve to introduce readers/listeners to exciting places and cultures while learning new concepts, view points and vocabulary. And then there is the Magic. No matter how frightening the topic might seem, the magic assures that Jack and Annie always get home safely. GET THEM ALL! These magic Treehouse books put your young reader right in the middle of history. It is full of facts & details and brings the history to life. My son is a second grader & loves these books. They enhance his vocabulary & keep him fascinated in the story. Great books. We use them in our homeschool curriculum. They even have reading clubs dedicated to this series of books.

I purchased several books by Mary Pope Osborne. My granddaughter's school requires that she read 20 minutes every day for homework and she was becoming more and more disinterested in doing so even though she has loved books since she was several months old. That is until the librarian recommended this series. Now she will read with an adult or by herself. She is in first grade and loves the books. Great book for young and old
This is another great book from the Magic Treehouse series that I highly recommend! These books don't have to be read in order, they are fun to read in order and make more sense that way but they can be read one by one especially if your kids like a particular subject such as knights!
