About this product

Product Information

Through in-depth research and detailed historical context, Sonali Kolhatkar and James Ingalls report on the injustice of U.S. policies in Afghanistan historically and in the post-9/11 era. Drawing from declassified government documents and on-the-ground interviews with Afghan activists, journalists, lawyers, refugees, and students, Bleeding Afghanistan examines the connections between the U.S. training and arming of Mujahideen commanders and the subversion of Afghan democracy today. Bleeding Afghanistan boldly critiques the exploitation of Afghan women to justify war by both conservatives and liberals, analyzes uncritical media coverage of U.S. policies, and examines the ways in which the U.S. benefits from being in Afghanistan.

"A wake-up call to everyone who thought the war in Afghanistan was a success story." -Eve Ensler "This is not The Bookseller of Kabul or The Kite Runner . It is not for latte-drinking liberals who want to save exotic Afghan women or men. It's about what America is really doing today in Afghanistan after the Taliban was ousted, and what we did before." -Pratap Chatterjee, author of Iraq, Inq.: A Profitable Occupation

Item is just as described and in pristine condition. Packaged extremely well. Thank you!! I would buy from the seller again. But be aware, processing and shipping is a lengthy process and you aren’t likely to get your item in under a week. But did arrive in the stated delivery window. Now, knowing that it will take time to arrive, this book was so clean and nice, I will buy from the seller again. Patience is a good skill to cultivate.

  • when will the american people wake up

These authors support rawa, major plus in my book and karma points. Here is another book detailing what has happened to Afghanistan and it's people thanks to outside forces and political manuvering by world powers and their smaller players. I would sum up most of this by a comment by Milton Bearden, CIA:the united states was fighting the soviets to the last Afghan, the powers that be didn't care abouty the carnage of the people or who they were funding so long as it did damage to their other super power opponent, these books need to be read and understood by the american public to fully grasp what is happening to the world at large

  • Bleeding Afghanistan

This book gives you an information that you will never get from any of those corrupted politicians, that how waves citizens.
