About this product

Product Information

By the beginning of 1941 there was a fully fledged Polish Air Force operating alongside the RAF. With 14 Squadrons it was larger than any other of the Air Force from Nazi-occupied Europe that had joined the Allies. Over 17,000 men and women passed through the ranks of the Polish Air Force while it was stationed in the UK. They shot down 745 enemy aircraft, with a further 175 unconfirmed. They dropped thousands of bombs and laid hundreds of mines, flying 102,486 sorties notching up a total of 290,895 operation flying hours. They achieved this at a cost of 1,973 killed and 1,388 wounded. They won 342 British gallantry awards.

The item is as described and works! I'm very happy with my purchase and definitly reccomend this seller as I could easily see myself buying from them again. The only qualm I have is that they sent it in a thin cardboard/paper envelope that offered no water proofing of any kind, luckily the item arrived with no damage but the cd itself was loose in the case and the case was itself loose in this cardboar paper envelope with no additional padding or protection. Could work on packing stuff better.

The item is fine but the packaging is terrible considering how far it travelled. Also they are listed as Us seller but it’s shipping for the Uk - this is why it took weeks for me to get the item. If I would have known before that it would take that long I would be as upset as I am now. When I reached out to them they did not mention it and I found out on my own. I reached out because I was concerned that it had been a week and no movement.

  • A part of WWII history that deserves to be heard.

Well written book on this rightfully embarrassing subject. Imagine your country invaded by two brutal dictator’s armies at the same time while your "allies" grovel from the sidelines. The Polish air force fought 2000 to 159 odds in outdated machines and still inflicted telling damage to the Nazi Luftwaffe. When defeat was inevitable the Communists under Stalin invaded the other side of the country. Those who managed to escape joined the air forces of France and finally Britten to continue the fight. Those who were captured were systematically murdered by both the Germans and Russians who blamed each other for their atrocities. Stalin even ordered the execution of the entire Polish officer corps. After enduring these horrors for the duration of the European war the survivors are then ...
