Als dominante Alltagssprache behauptet das L tzebuergesche heute unbestritten neben dem Deutschen und Franz sischen seine Stellung im triglossischen Variet tengef ge in Luxemburg. Seit dem 19. Jahrhundert ist es zu einem enormen Prestigeaufschwung und Gebrauchszuwachs des L tzbuergeschen gekommen. Davon blieb die linguistische Struktur dieser Sprache nat rlich nicht unbeeinflu t. Nach Meinung der luxemburgischen Linguistik f hrten diese Ver nderungen zur Entstehung einer l tzebuergeschen Koin , die neben den verschiedenen luxemburgischen Regionaldialekten als berregionale Umgangssprache verwendet wird und standardsprachliche Funktionen bernehmen soll. Diese Koin hypothese wird in dieser Arbeit zum ersten Mal empirisch berpr ft. Zur Analyse der Dialektvariation werden soziolinguistische Konzepte wie Dialektausgleich, Koin isierung, Fokussierung/Diffusion, neuere phonologische Theorien (Nicht-lineare Phonologie) sowie Methoden der akustischen Phonetik herangezogen. In einer korpusgest tzten Analyse werden phonetisch-phonologische Variablen f r Sprecher und Sprecherinnen aus den vier innerluxemburgischen Dialektregionen analysiert. Um die j ngsten Ver nderungen in der luxemburgischen Dialektgeographie zu erforschen, wird im ersten Schritt die historische Dialektsituation, wie sie in den reichlich vorhandenen Ortsgrammatiken und dem "Luxemburgischen Sprachatlas" erscheint, mit Sprachdaten einer jungen und mobilen Gruppe von Sprechern und Sprecherinnen verglichen. Um eine Variet tendifferenzierung zwischen Dialekt und berregionaler Umgangssprache festzustellen, werden in einem weiteren Schritt die Dialektaufnahmen der Informanten und Informantinnen mit ihren Interdialektaufnahmen verglichen. Im Gesamtergebnis zeigt sich, da die Regionen S den, Osten und Norden ihre spezifischen Merkmale zugunsten von zentralluxemburgischen Merkmalen tendenziell aufgeben. Dennoch findet sich daneben, idiolektal bedingt, noch ein hohes Ma an Dialekterhalt, so da bis heute die diatopische Variation im L tzebuergeschen noch relativ hoch ist.
