The author has documented and shown examples of decoys from eighty-odd carvers throughout the state. Henry C. Chitwood begins his book with a table of carvers listing them by name, date, location, carving period, number of decoys made, and a description of the types of decoys they carved. This is followed by a detailed text covering the various geographic areas in Connecticut and the decoys produced there, along with biographical notes on the gunners as well as the carvers. Finally on factory decoys, shore birds and descriptive decoy features. The hunting as well as decoy enthusiast could not ask for a more informative source on Connecticut working decoys.

Ok so I ordered this item listed as having free shipping. It was listed at $43.54 with free shipping. Somehow I ended up being charged $65.52. Then after waiting 3 weeks and having absolutely no tracking information I spoke with the seller who agreed to send a replacment, but despite charging me extra money was unwilling to ship that replacment in a way that wouldn't take atleast 3 more weeks. Ultimately this was a complete waste of time and the seller is not one that I would recommend.

This is not a coloring book!!!!! It’s just a book of black and white photos and even if colored over would look horrible! This book is a scam and I have received 2 items out of 3 I ordered and the third hasn’t even been shipped. Tried to message seller but only option given is to send the item number but no way to give reason for dissatisfaction with item! I would advise not ordering anything from this seller…

    Provides adequate coverage of the historic development of decoy making.

    The book is not as comprehensive for all decoy makers in CT but adequate from an historical prspective.

    Connecticut Decoys by Doug Knight

    Very well done, good text & photos.I liked the layout of the book and as far as I know, this is the only book soly on Connecticut decoys. It does a good job of covering all of the carvers from the area. Good price for a decoy book I didn't have
