Similar to the original Madagascar game, Escape 2 Africa plays out in a series of platform levels, featuring exploration, collection quests, and light combat. Players change characters to fit the challenge. Gloria can knock over enemies with her size, and she's also an excellent swimmer. Melman has special healing powers, and the ability to toss objects great distances. When there's a need for speed, Marty's the right zebra for the job, and Alex is a good choice for platform exploration, with his special ability to climb poles and vines. <br><br>New characters introduced in the sequel, such as King Julian and Moto Moto, offer their own special abilities and bonuses, and the penguins are back as well. Also like the original game, Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa features a selection of mini-games for single players or a whole family, including soccer, racing, rhythm-based dancing, and safari photography challenges. In a creative collaboration between DreamWorks and Activision, some locations have been expanded for feature in the game, including the Watering Hole, the African Savannah, the Volcano, and others.

Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa (DS)
My 10 year old loved how Marty does martial arts. My 8 year old said the pin ball thing was fun. My other 10 year old said it was good because it has the same characters with different moves and levels. They are completely different from each other but are friends that work hard together.

Good Entertainment for a 7 year old
Birthday present for my nephew. He told which game he would like. He has a DS at home and doesn't have very many games. He loves the color and everything else about it.

There was a brief moment this season when the licensed titles on the DS were straying away from the generic platformer that blandly retells the plot of the movie. We've seen music rhythm games, adventure games, and pretty cool touch screen controlled action games. So it's disappointing to see that Griptonite Games, a developer responsible for some of the better licensed titles, went with the clichéd platformer approach for Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa.There was a brief moment this season when the licensed titles on the DS were straying away from the generic platformer that blandly retells the plot of the movie. Game came in good shape but thought it took a bit long
Bought the game because we had played it on the WII and with a medical leave thought it would take up some of the time but the game this way is harder. But after playing for a while the game is fun to try to figure everything out.
