About this product

Product Information

The charming world of Miss Maggie's Kitchen brings a mixture of refined classic French style with a modern twist, for perfect, effortless entertaining. H lo se Brion's early life was rhythmed by mealtimes--from her childhood in Florida, where her mother proudly upheld the tradition of the French family dinner, to summers spent in the Pyrenees, where her grandmother cooked over a wood-fire oven. Her passion for food--always respectful of the seasons and the origins of her products--followed her back to France, where she pursued a career in fashion. What initially began as a whimsical pastime turned into Miss Maggie's Kitchen , her brand that blends cooking, travel, and lifestyle in a perfect alchemy. Her innate talent for style and entertaining stems from her informal American approach to life mixed with her inherent French flair. Here, Brion shares more than eighty laid-back recipes for every occasion, including her beautiful table settings that are festive and welcoming. Her simple, authentic, and tasty cuisine includes winter squash soup with porcini crostini, cherry tomato pizza, veal stew, clementine and pistachio cake, and a rosemary-rhubarb cooler. Brion's husband, photographer Christophe Rou , captures the charm of Miss Maggie's Kitchen , where retro and modern culminate in the ultimate comfortable elegance.

Reviews
"As a child Héloïse Brion shuttled from her American life in Florida to summers at her French grandmother's home in the Pyrenees. Her memories of those summers are the stuff of fairy-tales--days spent in the service and rhythm of preparing meals over the wood-fired oven. After a stint in fashion, Héloïse and her husband bought an old hunting lodge in Normandy they named Miss Maggie and settled in with their young family. In Miss Maggie's Kitchen: Relaxed French Entertaining (Flammarion, 2020), Héloïse shares the rustic cuisine of her ancestral home and the casually chic way of entertaining in the French country style." -- FLOWER MAGAZINE

Super impressed with this seller! They had the best price by far for this book! Both the cost of the book and the shipping fee was far better than average! The book came exactly as described, it was well packaged and quite a bit earlier than expected! The seller was polite and replied quickly to my messages. I’ll definitely make another purchase soon! Thank you to the seller! Be safe and keep up the great work!

WONDERFUL book! Better than described, in just like new condition [not just good]. Packaged very carefully, shipped very securely. Great seller, would buy from again in a heartbeat! No communication occurred, but I imagine it would have been as good as the rest of their customer service. Very happy with purchase, thank you very much!

  • Beautifully presented, but not that much on content.

Not all that great. It is a beautiful book and nice to look at, but substantively, I didn't think that it offered much. I am quite familiar with French cooking and food and presentation. This book is quite beautifully done, but I didn't think that the content was new or terribly interesting. I saw her website and liked what I saw, but was not interested in joining to get more content for what was an excessive, in my opinion, 150 euros or thereabout. I thought I would check out the book first and am I glad I did. Very much more looks than content. If you are not already familiar with French cooking and food, you might find it to be wonderful. It just didn't add to what I already knew.
