Lens is great but I'd really have preferred it not be sent snail mail fedex -- it's a big seller with a thousand dollar lens, easily could be sent usps priority or some other economical method with insurance and get to me in a few days rather than over a week. Happy with the lens though.

This Lens Should Always Be In Your Bag
A very versatile lens indeed. Great focal range, weather sealed and image stabilization built in. F/4 helps keep the weight, size and price of the lens down. This is a great travel lens or wedding lens if you pair it with a fast prime like Sony's 50mm 1.2 GM. Great build quality, feels solid. I highly recommend this lens.

Nice range, but mediocre resolution
Not all that sharp. Seems well made. Functions well. Pictures are decent, but not much better than the cheaper kit lens, the 28-70mm. The GM is better...even the original GM 24-70mm is better. You get what you pay for. If you thought this would be a bargain...you were fooled.

Great travel lens.
Super crispy lens with a lot of useful focal lengths. Large but still reasonable to throw in a backpack. The rings aren't as smooth as my SEL1635G or SEL70300G but it feels much better than a tamron, and OSS is incredible - I can freehand shots down to 1/6s if I'm very steady. Distortion is significant but corrected for in software.

Best lens for all-around work.
Great all-around lens for shooting both photography and video. This is the workhorse lens for Sony cameras. If you can only have one lens, this is it.

Great multipurpose lens for most occasions
Great range for 80% of the photos I take when traveling. Heavier than some other lenses, like the 24-70, but I'm willing to carry the extra weight (8 oz.) for the extra focal length.
